This was my first graphic design project
(ever!) for Wet Seal back in 2001. The
goal was to create a series of 3 “belly
bands” that would wrap around the 3
types of pajamas that were being
featured on the center stand when the
client walked into the Wet Seal retail
store. The sign was an easelback sign,
approximately 8” x 10”. The goal was to
keep within the current in-store color
scheme, to cooridinate with the various
styles of pj bottoms being featured, to
be “girly” and appealing in nature, as
well as (of course!) being cost effective.
In essence, this was a 2-color job with a
custom die-cut shape for the heart on
the belly bands and the top of the
easelback sign.
Wet Seal HR
I created this for the quarterly in-house
Human Resources luncheon presented for
all of The Wet Seal, Inc for April 2007.
We produced 22” x 28” Easel Signs (on
the left), a 48” x 72” Banner, and
approximately 15 11” x 17” posters to
display around the building to inform the
employees of the date and time of the
meeting. I did this art from scratch using
inspiration from old travel posters,
which I wanted to put a more modern,
glossy spin on, while keeping the
simplicity of the Wet Seal and Arden B
brands, and fusing them to be of equal
importance/weight.

Wet Seal Holiday
This project was done almost
completely in-house; after the final
retouched image of the jeans came back
from the color house, I assembled and
built all hi-res elements in Photoshop for
the Wet Seal Inc for display December
2007. Banner on the right was produced
at 48” W x 72”H (which I built in layers
in Photoshop at 25% at 350 dpi, so at
the final size the banner’s lpi was 87.5,
which met the requirement of being a
minimum of 85 line screen for optimal
resolution and quality). Other pieces
shown include a 2-sided bagstuffer/
enter-to-win form; and an 11”W x 14”H
Racktop Sign.
Wet Seal Sun Banner
I created this 48" x 72" “Sun Banner” for
the “MOD ABOUT YOU” campaign for
Spring 2007 for window display nation-
wide for the Wet Seal, Inc. The pic on
the left is the concept as rendered out in
Photoshop. I created the sun totally
from scratch in Illustrator, given only the
direction of creating a “sun with big
eyes with huge 60’s-inspired eyelashes”.
To give it more dimension, we added a
series of halftone-like dots in a sunny
yellow (Pantone 102) and added a white
“drop shadow”. The final production
was on a semi-opaque frosted material.
In the end, this banner lived in the
windows for approximately 4 - 6 weeks,
and I was told so many people liked the
banner that employees of the stores
(and HQ alike) requested to take them
home with them when the banners came
down at the end of spring. The image on
the right is a picture of an actual store
window after production.
Wet Seal Catalog
This is the premiere issue of the Wet
Seal catalog (2 issues only ever
produced). I did all production, style
sheets, and management and transferral
of low-res to high-res film scans cover
to cover. Approximately 28 pages.

Sample Magazine Layout
For as long as I can remember, I have
always been absolutely in awe of and
have a fascination with fashion
magazines. I'm entranced by the
combination of imagery and text to
create a visually flowing piece. All that
work, and people skim them, discard
them, and never think twice about
everything that went into the creation of
it. The picture on the left is taken from a
shoot where I did the makeup on the
model seen here. This image struck me
as an image I would see in a beauty
magazine, so I was then inspired then to
create this faux fun and whimsical
spread. I titled the piece “ABOUT FACE”
in the “LOVE THE LOOK” section of the
magazine. The magazine itself I named
APHRODITE, after the goddess of love
and beauty. All images on the right side
of the page are low-res comps from
