Sample of a baby announcement I
created. All pieces printed on my home
Epson Photo EX 2200 and the edges
hand-torn, scored and folded myself.
Approximately 75 in all.
Custom Announcement
Example of a baby announcement. I also
took the photographs myself, then
incorporated them into the design/
layout of the baby announcement. Final
piece was reproduced as 6" x 4"
photographic prints.

Custom Invitation
Example of a baby shower invitation. On
the left, the assembled piece; on the
right, the individual pieces.
Custom Gift Certificate
Example of a gift certificate in 2003 for
newborn portraits made for a local
photographer, at the request of his
client. Photo taken by local
photographer as an example of his work;
logo designed by me and used in future
branding for his promotional pieces and
on his business cards. I printed,
trimmed, scored/hand-tore the opposing
rag edges and folded this individually-
made gift certificate.
Custom Invitation
Example of custom, hand made (printed,
trimmed, scored and folded) invitations
to a bridal shower (okay, I was the maid
of honor! I had to go all out!). PLEASE
NOTE: ART OF GIRL is taken from STILA
art that I downloaded from the
cosmetics website (http://
www.stilacosmetics.com); they make
downloads available for printing at home
and while I did edit the existing artwork
in Illustrator, this is mainly their image
and I need to give them legal credit,
despite this being a privately mailed
invitation. The other clip art is partially
also from Stila, some of it from my own
clip art library. Inserts consisted of a
card for directions and another for a
recipe card for guests to fill out and
bring with them to the shower.
Approximately 30 invitations created in
all.
Custom Invitation
Example of a home-made, printed,
trimmed, scored and self-folding (gate/
z-fold) bridal shower invitation.
Approximately 25 invitations sent out.
Custom E-vite Invitation
Example of an “e-vite” invitation for a
friend’s surprise baby shower who was
coming into town (May 2007). All art
(except for the girl; although modified)
designed and drawn by myself using a
Wacom tablet, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Custom Invitation
Example of a custom self-folding
invitation for a 40th birthday party. The
client gave me pictures of the honoree
when he was a boy and I incorporated it
into the theme of the military, which he
loved and was part of.
Custom Valentine's Card
In conjunction with a local
photographer's custom family-photo, I
created this self-folding Valentine's Day
card "mailer". The local dentist has a fun
family of 4 kids, and every couple of
years they like to send a Valentine's card
to their patients. Also included was a
vellum overlay with a printed message.
Clients sealed the card with a wax-
impression stamp before mailing.
Custom Christmas Card
Example of a custom Christmas card
from 2003; I printed these 2-sided
cards, and scored and folded them
myself. About 60 cards printed in all.
Custom Invitation
Example of a custom invitation (2-sided)
for 17-year old twin girls’ high-school
graduation party (by invite-only) at a
club in LA, CA. I was given direction
from my client that their favorite colors
were pink and silver, and the party was
to be black-and-white attire only. I took
photographs of the twins given to me
by my client and posterized them as
seen here for a more stylish twist.
Guests were required to bring the
invites, hence creating the final look
similar to an old-school “ticket”. Color-
laser printed on Kromekote paper stock.
Custom Card
Sample of a hand-made condolence card
for a friend who lost a close relative.
Laser-printed and affixed to card-stock.
Memorial Program
Example of a memorial program I
created; the family was of Irish heritage,
so the theme for the program circled
around that, and on the back, artwork of
a claddagh with the term: Loyalty, Love,
Friendship. The picture on the front was
taken from a small digital snapshot, and
she was somewhat behind another
person, so I retouched out and recreated
part of her shoulder and hair, then added
a vignette to minimize any distractions
in the image. Celtic-style font used in
the program; professionally printed and
scored/folded.
